Question What to do with my 06 GTO

Recently bought a 2006 GTO with 50k. I am new to cars and not very knowledgeable or experinced with them however I want to learn. I am wanting to know what I should do to start out with. The car already has a cold air intake, turner, and exhaust with some cutouts. What would be the next step or next couple to add more hp and increase over all performance. Thanks.

What kind of tune does the car currently have and what are the details on the exhaust setup? Does it have longtube headers?

It is on the 93 octance fuel tune the turner also has one for the el diablo tune as well. The exhaust is flowmasters and it looks like it only comes form the axel back. Im unsure about the headers do not know enough about what im looking at or for to give you a solid answer.

Ok, so judging by what you've just said, I'm assuming it at least has a handheld tune and a flowmaster catback.

Well, if it were my car, I would buy a set of longtubes and get the tune done over again since it's under your ownership, either a good mail order or a dyno tune. Then maybe switch the Flowmasters out for something else if you want to switch up the sound. You will get a pretty nice power gain from that alone and I think it would be a great start.

How about some underhood and under carriage shots.

what trans do you have?

GTOs do need rear suspension upgrades badly.

what tranny do you have ?if a auto get a higher rpm stall and a tranny cooler.consider a cam from a vendor on this forum.a mild 224 cam will net you 25+ more hp.I like the EPS cam, contact Pat-G for one.read alot more to get a feel for what direction you want to take .

first thing i would do, since i used to have one, is get some decent qa1 double adjustable shocks and springs etc.....and some drag radials...that thing wants to wheelhop waaaay too much out of the hole. after that i would do bolt ons and a cam just like anyone else. if its auto get a stall first thing. PTC makes an awesome one that is really starting to dominate the marketplace.
