Cool question about ls6 intake

will the 01 & 02 ls6 intakes off of ls1 engines effect any thing with my egr system on 99 ls1

well the ls6 intake doesnt have the egr port on the top of the intake like the ls1 intake. im pretty sure you have to delete your egr when upgrading to the ls6 intake. unless the 01/02 ls6 intakes of the ls1 does have the port. im not 100%. guess im not much help.

i think you can pass e check with the egr gone and the error code deleted. i cheated the e check and my egr and air pump didnt work.

SLP used to sell an LS6 intake that was modified with an EGR provision for people that wanted to retain their stock EGR for emissions and such.

But LS6 intakes never came stock with a provision for EGR, so most people just delete that system.

thats why i asked i didnt think they had the egr port but wasnt sure b/c i have found a few used ones for a good deal and i was looking at the one made by slp and it says it works with the egr

just delete the egr and delete the codes. It's easier. Plus the engine bay looks a lot better

i saw the ones from slp but they were a little more than what i could find a used one thats why i was wondering if it had the port

They make block of plates for the headers w/egr ..get the LS6 intake and go from there..plenty of write ups on this site..

Make your own EGR block off plate using a thin piece of sheet metal and some copper RTV sealer
