Default Has anyone mated a 99-00 6.0 to a 4l60e????

I bought a 99-00 6.0 for my firebird. Was told it was an 02 when i bought it. Ive read that I can have a converter built that will allow me to put this engine in my car. Has anyone done this? And if so where there any other issues i need to be aware of before i start dumping money into this thing?

i haven't done it but I'm pretty sure you have to have a custom convertor or a newer crank 01 or newer i think?

yes its a truck engine. I dont want to change the crank cause i dont want to rebuild the bottom end. I talked to circle d converters and they said they could build a converter for it, just wondering if anyone else has done this and how well it worked out for them.

long crank with the flat flexplate will bolt up fine to the 4L60E.

newer engines with the short crank use a dished flexplate to mate up to the 4L60E. of course, the 6.0 never came in front of a 4L60E but this is how the 5.3 mates up.

since you have the long crank, you will need the flat flexplate. I beleive it only has holes for the TH400 (4L80E) style converter, but the holes can be modified to fit.

Wont the nose cone on the front of the converter be an issue as well?
