Default Tach output on Holley Dominator EFI

New to the forum, new to LS engines, thanks for checking out the post...
Just finished installing and base tuning a 6.0 LS truck engine with dominator EFI in a 79 Elcamino I have everything running well but cant figure out how to get a RPM output for my tach. I am using a dakota digital gauge package that uses either a 12v or 5v input , but the only output I have from the harness is a -coil output (loose yellow wire) which may not even be an output, but I am having a tough time following the wiring diagram and manual that explains exactly what this loose yellow wire does. I think it may be a rpm input into the ECM, but again I am not quite sure. I have tried setting the tach parameters to 8 and 4 cylinder and used booth 12v and 5v but no luck. Thanks in advance for any help.
