full bolt ons and maybe a cam will keep you in front of him...

how bad do you want to beat it? Quickest way from a dig would probably be lid, cutout, slicks, and a some giggly juice. Or just level the playing field and get a supercharger yourself.

Yeah, cam, bolt ons, and DR's. Or with a big enough shot you could just spray by itself. The latter is not recommend for engine longevity though.

I would say other than a cam probably NOS and DR's. Just bolt on's will not do it I think.

It depends on how bad you want to beat him. Is his cobra stock? A lid, exhuast,FRA, and some DR's is all I needed to beat a STOCK 03 Cobra. Like I said he was stock and I just beat him. When I spayed him it was no contest.

If your car is an auto, get a convertor, deadly on takeoff with proper suspension.

I just bought an 03 cobra and with 1100 miles on it I ran three 12.60s @ 113 with a best of 113.9.I never thought they were fast until I bought one and it,s because They are hard cars to drive and thats why you dont see them running the big numbers when there stock.Im going back to the track in a couple weeks and I think it will run a 12.4 bone stock. Not even a K&N.

I also have an 01 ws6 that ran 13.1 @ 109 stock and then with a lid, filter and mac headers it ran 12.5 @ 114 so I think with just the small stuff on an ls1 you can run with the cobra.Alot of the cobra guy's think that the ls1 are no match but I think a good running ls1 with the boltons and a good driver can mach most cobras out there.

Good luck.

yeah, but most of the cobra guys i know, really know what a ls1/6 can do, but the funny part is, is that the neon srt-4 drivers think THEY can take out everything and rule with an iron fist.

if you wanted to be safe with beating a bolt on cobra, throw in a nice cam and a few things on the exhaust side to open flow. you should be REAL good to go afterwards

Well with just the mods in my sig I can take a stock 2003 Cobra from a roll on the highway. A bolt on Cobra is another story. You'll need at least a Cam and for the faster ones. Heads, spray, etc.

If your an A4 than headers, Hoosiers, and a high stall converter. I got friends that run 11.80's with stock cam/motor A4's.

I've raced two '03 Cobras from a roll thus far:

My buddy's stock '03 - ran from a roll and I was dead even with him - intake/exhaust, lt's, that's it.

Modded 550rwhp '03 - got him by a carlength with the above + cam/100-shot N2O.

'03 Cobras are nice, but it doesn't take much for an LS1 to outrun them - even "highly" modified ones - at least from a roll.

Just buy a $500 nitrous kit from Nitro Daves and borrow a buddies nittos(these were the first 2 mods I did and ran 12flat @ 120mph in a A4) and you you will put carlength after carlength on him. Spray a 150 shot. The car will handle every bit of it. Ask me how I know?

From a roll, you don't want any of my '03 Cobra...trust me. I'm not sure what you run, but my old LS1 that ran 11.50's would get DOMINATED by my Cobra. It's a different story from a dig for now.

Saying it "doesn't take much for an LS1 to outrun" an '03 Cobra is a bit of a stretch.

Here's a little vid...

the thing that gets my friend in his cobra is heat soaking. After a few runs at WOT he claims to really loose power. This car has intake, pulley, headers, magnaflow cat back. ~450rwhp.
