Powerwashed LT1 engine. Now it won't start?
Haha got ya!
Not really new to ls1tech (used to be big in the LT1 section). But I just picked up a 2000 SLP Camaro SS M6 today for $7500.
88,000 miles. It has an SLP exhaust but I don't know if it's a loudmouth or not because it's loud but not raspy like an LM, so it might be the stock SLP exhaust. Also has 1.4" Eibach drop springs, other then that its bone stock.
The last owner said he was cruising in 6th and it didn't want to come out when he wanted to downshift, and 5th gear pops out. I just got home with it (35 mile drive, mostly highway) it popped out of 5th on me once, didn't try 6th. It seems to me like synchros but I think I'm just gonna get the whole tranny overhauled. 1-4 and Reverse work perfect.
Other then that, I can see why so many guys will never look back to LT1's. My 95 was a full bolt on car+tuned and this thing just puts it to shame. Very happy with the purchase, very very solid car and very well kept for. I wouldn't ever have known it had a tranny problem from driving it 1-4. If anyone has any suggestions on tranny rebuilds (I was looking at Texas Drivetrain Performance) feel free to post below. Thanks!

Well the Monster Clutch and Tick MC are inevitable, that decision was made almost instantly, I'm going to take advantage of their $100 off sale that Monster's having through various vendors and get a Stage 3. Yes I know their a bit of a tougher clutch but I do not mind that. Just looking for opinions on trans rebuilds, I'll look into Tick.

Sweet Ride!! YES the predator tuner is like hypertech crap. i would reinstall stock tune and sell it. once you get some bolt ons go with a mail order tune from frost. as far as transmission i personally would go with tick

They are a good company as well, it just comes down to personal preference, alot of people like texas drive train, alot of people like tick, alot of people like other performance transmission shops

Best way to fix an opti after power wash...
1. Sell LT1
2. Buy LS1
When I had my LT1, I spent more time working on it than driving it - I practically became an optispark expert. My current LS1 has been so problem-free that I'm almost scared to mess with it. You're going fo be happy with the switch.

I'm another one who knows the joys of LTI ownership all too well ... two 94 Formulas = two bad optisparks, one toasted coil & burned cap - since the opti had to come out, I just replaced the entire thing for a total of three opti replacements. I know exactly what you mean about running scared ... especially on a long trip.
LS1 and never look back. Simplicity of design and awesome reliability.
