How often do you use the brake at high speed & how exactly are you checking for that?

anytime im driving with friends and thier behind me they always call and tell me that my break light is out. I've also had incidences where im exiting the freeway and people would actually role down there window just to tell me. Works just fine in city driving though. I have no clue what the hell is goin on. Maybe its the wiring??????
