Hello!
And yeah there is always gonna be the debate of heat soak on the manifold.

I'm personally going to buy the bbk because it allows more air then the ls6

It's already a hot engine and as long as it has plenty of air I don't think it will be a problem, plus the bbk is also much more nitrous friendly

There's some info in here. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...s6-intake.html

If I don't get a FAST at a decent price, I will go with a BBK.

no coolant goes through a ls1 intake so any heat won't hurt power.you can find a used BBK for under $300.studderen did a intake dyno comparison ,look for that thread.

BBK is a good intake for the price. Can also be ported slightly. Flows a little better than an LS6, theres a few threads about it. Heat soak thing is pretty much a myth.

I wondered the same thing. I personally am going with the BBK in months to come. It is a little more nitrous friendly and it looks better IMO.

We would do the LS6 and get a FAST later. We have never seen good results from the BBK intakes.

Not going to start an argument but I have personally seen the BBK dyno higher.

And I have seen them dyno lower. Every setup is going to be a little different and IMO we are pretty much grasping at straws here. It comes down to personal preference and what you want to spend your money on. I have an LS6 intake on my car and it won't be removed until I can pony up the cash for a FAST.

We can agree to disagree. If I could afford a FAST I would have one for sure.

to hell with wasting money on a bbk. the ls6 is a hoss for a stock intake. put the money elsewhere until you are ready for a real intake

I couldn't agree more! With having fitment issues, and loss of power compared to the LS6 on my own personal vehicles, I wouldn't recommend this intake either.

The ls6 always has great reviews. BBK has so many mixed reviews its amusing.
