Default Manual cars

How's it going. Pretty new to the fourm and hopefully picking up a 2000 camaro if all goes well.... But i am nervous and wanted to ask a few questions. First off i drove stick multiple times... But they were all shitty cars so now that im buying a nice car i dont wanna screw up the tranny. i drove a few and the gears are really close together so i was wondering if it was possible to accidently go into reverse , while going from 4th to 5th gear? and if you can and if i do what is the outcome? Thank you.

There's a lockout on reverse, over a certain speed you can't shift to R.

Yeah, don't have to worry about accidentally shifting into reverse

Our cars are fairly easy to drive, and yeah no worries there. I learned stick on my WS6 and caught on pretty quick and they are pretty lenient cars as far as learning.

There's a solenoid that locks out reverse if the car is moving more than a few mph. Even if it were disabled it's still harder to go into the reverse gate than any other gear.

Same story here exactly. My GF is currently trying to learn stick, and she's done better in my SS than any other car. I think it's partly because the car just makes SOOOO damn much torque you have to pretty much dump the clutch without any throttle to completely bog it out.

There is a lock but you cant always rely on it 100%. I dont know how but my buddy accidentally threw his in reverse when goin for 3rd at the strip. Luckily he didnt come off the clutch so everything was good. But most of the time when moving forward it wont allow you to hit reverse.

Frankly, that's just impressive, not only getting reverse to grab after hitting the top of 2nd, but also missing your shift by two entire gear slots. lol
