Default Some adive about purchasing 243 heads

Found a pair of ls6 heads, just want some input from you guys.




Guy says they have 70k miles on them.

Im planning to buy new valve train parts to go along with my texas speed 228r cam that ill buy later on hopefully.

What do you guys think?

He is asking for 450.

Plenty of 243 castings showed up on 07 newer L33 5.3 engines as well as
05-06 LS2 engines with standard weight valves. The LS6 heads had the
hollow stem intake and the sodium filled exhaust valves which are .0236"
longer and approx. 25 grams lighter for higher rpms. If those are true Vette
or CTS-V heads then they should have springs with a yellow paint stripe on
them.

It's difficult to tell in the pictures, but the one pic that shows a bit of valve spring makes them look like they might have some significant sludge build-up. I'd be very tempted to have them disassembled and vatted!

do a valve seat leak test ,to see if you need a valve job..are you going to clean them up your self ,or take them to a shop?

Definitely I would go through those heads completely before I even thought about using them.
