1995 LT1 or 2000 LS1 ?
I am looking at a 1995 LT1 A4 Camaro convertible with 66k miles on the clock. The dealer is asking $11,900 for it but I am going to try and get it below $10k. The car seems very clean, was traded in for a new truck.
I found a 2000 LS1 with 65k miles for about $12k.
I will be using the car as a daily driver (mostly highway miles). Will put about 16k miles a year on it and dont plan on modding it for several years.
I actually like the way the 1995 looks and it is a convertible.
Any opinions on reliability of LT1 vs LS1 and which would be a better daily driver?

You are on LS1tech.com
That is way too much money for a 95 LT1. You can find them for half that. Both make fine daily drivers. Get the one that satisfies your needs for the right price.

Everyones right, That is way to much money for that 95 LT1. I sold my 94 LT1 for a 2001 SS for 5000.00 and that was 250.00 under blue book. go with the LS1.

LS1 all the way. Even if I owned a LT1 I would say get the LS1 if they are that close in price. There are only a few convertibles I would drive and a Camaro is not one of them. So I would get the LS1.

My previous car was a 95 T/A, my 2000 T/A is a way better car. I don't seem to have all the little problems that the 95 had.Plus the LS1 cars just plain handle better, and feels better. The LS1 in my book is much more refined and easier to maintain. No P.O.S optispark, waterpump, intake manifolds, air in the reverse flow cooling system. Then you have to deal with the convertible top.

Buying a 2002
Well looks like today I found a 2002 t-top V8 A4 with 28500 miles for $17,300. The car is from a dealer that I have bought from before. I think the car was a repo and the original owner had the Eibach springs installed.
Pretty good deal i think.
I will probably buy it tomorrow.

No comparisons...I have owned two LT1s and two LS1s. LS1 is the way to go. Even at a better price, I would pay more for the LS1 car, especially if you are going to mod the cars. You will spend a lot of money on the LT1 car just to get it to run with the stock LS1.
