thought i share my first engine build and swap!
finished swapping in my forged ls1 this weekend and things went alot smoother then expected, i ended it up stripping off all the wires, fuel lines, intake and valve covers thurs night then took off work fri with a friend and by sat night the engine was in and running! luckily was a smooth and straight forward swap and we pulled it from underneath with tranny, was going to do clutch at same time as this was out but clutch took longer then suppose to and wasnt here in time so we had to put my burnt one back in but at least got everything else together!
engine specs are.
347 ls1 approxmitly 9:1 compression ratio
-stock crank
-wiseco pistons PN# K392x3905, +25.00cc, 3.905in bore, 1.304in compression distance, top ring steel
-RPM H-Beam rods 6.100 with 8740 ARP rod bolts
-EPP Blower cam
-stock 243 heads with manley double valve springs rated .700 lift
-ARP 12 point head studs
-LS9 head gaskets
-BBK 80mm intake and throttle body
-double roller adjustable timing chain set dot to dot
heres some pics!
engine thats going in
Removing the old engine, my drive way is at an angle so we had to use the ratchet strap, strap to pull the engine up into the garage, took 2 people lol
in the garage ready to swap everything over to new engine
new engine going on to KMemeber
this is what we found after tearing down the old engine out of curiosity, the old engine ran great and didnt make a noise...
cylinder 7 intake pushrod... didnt make any noise lol
when i bought the car 3+ years ago i had to flush coolant cause the previous owner used rad stop leak and the coolant looked nasty, didnt think it do something like this...
check out the coolant passages on the head gasket
once we got it in i didnt feel like re doing exhaust and welding it up so we just did this, WAY louder then i exspected lol
gunna try to get vids up soon!

yeah kinda surprised but really happy it went so smooth.
i plan on doing a front mount kit and keeping A/C, i have C6 and truck manifold and a masterpowers T76 divided flange turbo ive had laying around with .76ar (i think)cold side and 1.04AR hot, thinking of running a spool valve on it, was gunna make my own kit but ive been eyeballing huron speeds new kit alot so will see what happens.
deff will update this or make a new post when i get the kit on!

I haven't done a rebuild in years and on the handful of one's I've done, the engines always came out the top. I figured these engines dropped out the bottom, but I didn't know that the whole suspension went with it. Thanks for sharing....I learned something new. Likewise that was pretty wild seeing what that stopleak did to the coolant passages. P.S. I had no problem viewing the video. Thanks again.
