Default 02' Z28 vs. 01' T/A

I have the T/A and I raced an 02 Z28 just the other day. I lost by less than half the length of my hood. I was winning the whole entire time until he pulled away literally at the last 1.5 seconds. Approximately how much more does my car weigh than his? Does this make it a big difference in racing? He had a lid and loudmouth and i have lid/intake/bellows and exhaust possibly. Not exactly sure what kind of exhaust or even if it is a full exhaust system. While on that note...is there anyway anyone can help me out so I can check for myself to see if it is a full out exhaust system that is helping my system "exhale?" Thanks!

No two motors are the same. RWHP will range from 280 to 330. Driving and shift points are also a factor. If you want help with the exhaust, take a picture and post it or drive to your local exhaust shop. If you decide you need to buy a catback exhaust, go with a straight through design with mandrel bends in the exhaust pipes. Borla, Magnaflow, Random TEch and the SLP loud mouth all flow well and are good for at least 15 RWHP. I went with Magnaflow because of the deep sound, its stainless steel, and it flows 1000 cfm. Also, its only $369. The Random tech and the loudmouth are similar in price but their not stainless and their mufflers aren't chrome. Finally, do not buy a flowmaster. They sound great but make very little power.

Good luck

That is exactly true. I had a 98 Z28 A4 convert that put down 277 stock and know a guy who's bone stock 01 SS M6 put down 326. That's 49 freaking rwhp! On the same type dyno no less.

There's a Sponsor GP right now on the Magnaflow, $350.00 shipped.
