A very happy Z28 owner as of yesterday!
I am the new, proud owner of 02 Z28, black / black. 2G1FP22G222168938, MFD by GM of Canada, 8/02. 50k miles. Drove 18 hours RT to get this baby. Impeccably maintained. I am thrilled. My fourth Gen 4 and by far the most perfect of all. I now turn to all you experts to help me get it right and keep it impeccable. Starting with the basics….let’s talk maintenance. Example: what oil, fluids, wax, leather seat conditioner, etc., etc., etc., do you ‘all recommend I use? At 50k miles, what maintenance would you do if this was your vehicle? Next, performance and appearance enhancements. Where should I start? Tires/rims? Engine? The exhaust pipes show “rust” so may start there. If so, what should I replace the stock exhaust with? Any and all suggestions appreciated. Also, is it possible to obtain a reproduction of the original window sticker?
I found the Gen 4 production codes.
From the Parts Identification sticker,
FDPPBM. Means ?
1FP97. Means ?
Help me with these please: IP2 K43 NF7 STE UZ7 VM3 1SZ 6BS 7B2 8TJ 9TJ BC/CC U8555.....I do find the preceding on the list obtained from the Internet. Anyone know the meaning of those? Thanks.
Lastly, the Z28 emblems are solid black. Most I remember seeing have some color to them. Solid black meaning anything? Again, thanks beforehand for your responses and getting me on the right track so I can keep this Z28 in perfect condition.

Do some searching. It's what this forum is for. There's a reason there are different categories for appearance and performance. It's your car, make it yours. Do what you think looks good. As for performance that comes down to your budget. Obviously a lid, LTs, look into an ls6 intake and a tune. It's endless. For exhaust check out ls1sounds.com . A regular tune up could be needed depending on the last owner. Just look around the forums and all your questions will be answered. Welcome to the forum! Post some pics!

google "RPO Codes"
http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-ca....asp?year=2002
that will give you listings of what the 3 and 4 letter codes are, which are RPO codes.
there may be a sticker in the glove box having all the rpo codes for your car or they are on the driver's door.
what you also may be able to do is hit up a dealer and have them print you out the build sheet, they can get it as a word document, based on the vin and that will basically be all the info that was on the window sticker.
even though only 50k miles being a 2002 unless you know it was done (you said impeccably maintained) get the coolant in the radiator changed and drain and clean out the overflow tank which is located under the battery. check your radiator cap for any build up and clean if necessary.
opinions will vary as what to use for fluids and what modifications to do, your best bet is to use the search feature and search on the topic of interest in the general maintenance forum. there are many aftermarket exhaust systems available for the fourth gen camaro and you can get them in stainless. stock wheels were 16", the SS camaro came with 17" wheels and 275/40-17 tires which would be a direct fit.
