Default Gonna pull the trigger on a 6.0 motor

Hey guys I found a 6.0 motor for a good price. The motor has 130k on it and comes with a cpu but no wiring harness. He thinks its a lq4 motor, he said it has 317 casting on the heads. It comes with the pullies water pump and ac compressor. I am debating on getting the bottom end rebuilt, I kind of want to do it just for the insurance. I am asking for suggestions on intake, heads, cam and front motor accessories. I was thinking ls3 intake and upgrading the heads. This is a budget build, I will be using 4l80e trans, I am looking for 450hp and tq. More power than that would be a plus but I can live with the numbers I mentioned previously. Advice and guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys Again!

the ls3 intake is for rectangular ports like a l92 /ls3 head.consider some used 243/799 heads.ported heads will add 30 hp.you mite sell the 317 to some one doing a boosted engine.a bbk intake cost $300 used ,and will work .a bigger EPS cam should meet your goals.if you bore the block ls3 heads would be great ,you can get them at SDPC for a great price.then you need ls3 rockers ,and a cam ment for a ls3 head.

What's a bbk intake? What's a good price on some 243 or 799 heads? What should I expect to spend on a cam? Thanks again!

Here's a BBK intake. http://www.tennesseespeedsport.com/B...FShxQgodYxoAoA

A good price on a set of used 243/799 would be anything under $600 shipped.

A good cam would cost you $200+. You can find someone selling a moderately used one in the classifieds.

Ok so I got the motor, its a 2002 escalade motor according to the guy that sold it to me. He said it was an lq4 but after further research if what I found out was that if it is what he says it is then it has to be an lq9.Needless to say if it is then I am extremely pleased considering I didnt pay a lq9 price. I ordered some 243 heads that were freshened up. Next they get a valve job and springs for whatever cam I get. I want an ls6 intake, but am not sure what else I need to complete the transition. Anyone have cam kit suggestions? I would like 450+ rwhp, I know I need to determine what pistons I have exactly before I can really accurately map out the rest of the parts but if anyone has a good place to get the front accesories please feel free to offer suggestions. I want to run 4l80e trans, so converter suggestions would be appreciated too. I wondeer should I start a build thread for my motor? Or if someone could offer a build thread to follow that would be a good model to go off please dont hesitate to offer suggestion. Thanks guys for any and all feedback.
