Default Help car runs like crap

2000 ta car ran 13.2 before yank 3600 install now runs 13.50s I think I have the trans right torq mang removed tcc lockup set drives nicely on the street but at the track just doesnt seem to pull. When they installed the converter is there any fuel wiring they would of had to remove that may not have beem installed right giving me some fuel pressure drop not good at electrical stuff so what would I be paying to have that checked reason Im concerned with this is my clock in radio goes dim also I have 56 lbs fuel pressure at idle and have replaced the fuel filter(ac delco)any advice would be appreciated

What are your 60-foots and trap speeds on the 13.2 "before" run and the 13.5 "after" run?

While it's not unheard of to lose a bit of trap speed with a higher stall, that 7mph loss is excessive and indicates some significant power loss. Those llatter O2 values, if correct, sound dangerously lean.

There is obviously some sort of fuel delivery issue happening here.

just looking over my tune and some bin files on hp and noticed that everyone with a converter under engine torq mang has the max torq set at 639/640 while mine is 350 and it mentions things about voltage drop to the fuel pump could that be my problem being the new converter is appling alot more torq

are you tuning this yourself or having someone else tune it?

how much fuel did you have in the tank for both runs ?with the bigger stall you might have more fuel moving around ,uncovering the fuel pump pick up .scan you fuel injector ,did you retune shift points or any thing for the convertor swap ?any engine codes ?

My bet is that your fuel pump is failing and the timing with the converter install is purely coincidental, since nothing about the install would affect fuel delivery.

This is what was at fault when my car dropped .7 and 7mph at the track. I had very similar O2 readings to yours. Fuel pressure at idle was normal, but fell off drastically above 4000 rpm.

Put it on a dyno to prove what was happening. Replaced the pump and all is good.

Yes, just spray it with cleaner. It has been known for MAF's to go bad; that's a possibility too if it continues to throw off your AFR after cleaning and reinstallation.
