Max HP for stock trans and rear

Max HP for stock trans and rear
I'm making some goals for the winter and was wondering, how much hp can the stock 6 speed trans and rear hold in a 99 Z28?
I'm looking at a couple crate engine options but I don't want to leave the rear end, drive shaft, or tranny on the ground.
Thanks in advance!

BTW - This is the engine I was thinking of putting in the car this spring/late winter.

What can I do to safely put down 400+ rwhp?

There is no magical number. It's more about how you drive it. Hard launches on a sticky tire, and wheel hop are your worst enemy here. With mods in my sig, i'm still on the stock rear with no issues, but then I don't do the two things that I mentioned above

I just want to point out real quick that you can make 450whp and spend about half the $$$ they're asking for that crate motor. My .02
And to help answer your question; my car is just basic bolt ons and before I do anything else I will be finding a stronger rear, but I have intentions of taking it to the track. The stock 10 bolt is too weak plain and simple.
From what I read the T56's are good up and over 500whp.

why would you go backwards in technology?!?!? LS motors are more efficient in every way, plus your stock trans will not work with the sbc. you can buy a built long block for cheaper than that sbc anyway.

Get off summit and start researching here...
Also to answer your question, the stock 10 bolt rear can break at stock power levels, the T56 should be good for at least 450ft.lbs of torque at the wheels though.

like stated above it would be much better to retain your ls1 motor in a ls1 car.go to texas speed ,get some ported ls1 heads with a ls1 cam pkg .get a ls6 intake and some header.a stock 7.5 rear with a m6 won't last long with sticky tires.

under stock is what they can handle, transmission is a little stronger but if u a plan on actually beating on it etc, ur 10 bolt wont last long, killed mine with a bolt on stock ls1 and stock 275 tires, and just cirlce drag racing after my 9in my trannys not so happy (340-350rwhp) for swapping an old school engine thats not a radical build (454/502 blown) its not worth it, a good cam and heads will get u 500rwhp or damn close and like others said better m pg and all, and ls1 are ABOUT as cheap to build and easier
for buding urs at 88k id say go for it, friend did heads and cam on my old ls1 with 130k on it and still runs strong
