Default header?

Im looing to put headers on my 2001 Z28, should I go with shorty or long tube headers? are the shorty with high flow cats the way to go? thanks Todd

Well, Shorty headers are way more expensive. It also depends in what state/city you are in cuz not complying with emmisions is a gamble.
I live in Hollywood CA so If I get pulled over for having headers it's a fix it ticket meaning I'll have to get a fake smog or remove the Long tubes and then put them back again. I would say that you will get the best bang for the buck with Long tube PaceSetters

I wouldn't go with shorties. The purpose of replacing your stock manifolds are to make your motor breath better, and longtubes do that job much better than shorties. You can still get highflow cats with LT's, but clearance might be an issue.

Pacesetter long tubes or look at Texas Speeds stainless LT's! Either are a great bang for the buck! I had Pacesetters on my cam only car and made great power thru them!
If I ever do an NA car again tho I will be doing the Texas Speed LT's bc they are stainless and the same price!

Fwiw my clearence with long tubes is better than stock. My factory y pipe hung really low compared to the BBK setup.
