Question Holly Power Shot Air Filter ?'s

ok, first off let me start by saying that I am an ex-machanic..So I feel dumb now!
I had a SLP lid and K&N and ditched both becuase I was not happy with the set up. I took everything apart last night and found grass clippings and leafs in my MAF!

So I did thr MTI clear lid and Holly filter. The question is when I reach under the lid where the air comes in, I can move the new filter up and down a little.... Is this ok to have a little play in the filter, or should it be snug?

My K&N Sucked, so I hope this will do a better job filtering!

Thanks in advance!

Alex

You don't want any play if it's along the sides. The middle will sag and move a bit. Is this play along the back of the filter underneath the neck. Can you see through the clear lid if there is a gap being created. My TSP clear lid and Holly filter was a pretty good fit but I ended up putting a very small gasket made of rubber weatherstripping underneath the lip of the filter to push it up even farther. Can't even notice it. Complete tight seal. After seeing the fit of these lids I wonder how many people are letting debree into there engines and that possibly being why people are seeing oil consumption, etc.

good point! Thanks Dal1as! Where did you get the weather stripping from? I am going to add that myself..just to be safe!

Good point on the engine problems folks are having!

I got it from Loews or a Home Depot. It's the grey foam, about a 1/4 inch width. Fit right under the lip perfectly.
