Default 6 Speed or Auto?

Hey everybody I just got a job and am now starting my search to buy a 01-02 WS6 and I can't decide between an auto and a 6 speed. I currently have a 97 Firebird a4 and I like driving it but of course I love my neighbors ws6 and want one as soon as I get enough money saved but auto is what I drive right now and don't know how to drive a clutch yet even though my dad or mom can teach me. I will be using it as a dd until I buy another little car to get to school and work so I can save miles on the TA. So thoughts, opinions?
Thanks!

Ive owned both A4 and 6speed. The 6spd by far is way more fun and satisfying to drive. Nothing beats a sunny fall or spring day with the tops of and rolling through the gears

M6 here

There's a reason you never see people in movies jump in a car, slam it into "D" and peel away

I do most of my driving in city, and never thought of shifting as a "pain". To me, shifting is just another part of driving a car, like turning the wheel or using your mirrors. And the ability to control the throaty note of your 5.7 V8 makes driving sex on wheels

Have you driven any stick car before?

This topic is as old as dirt.

There is no right answer, and the only opinion that matters is the person driving the car.

Check out the Auto and Manual trans sections for specific information/considerations on each trans type.

Actually, I've seen several movies where that exact thing has happened.

FWIW, no manual trans car has ever been welcome in my garage.
