Default how to repair partially-stripped starter bolt threads in aluminum block

The threads for the short bolt on my starter have been compromised. The bolt will still tighten some, but not enough.

There doesn't appear to be a lot of material in there to put a threaded insert. I also thought about maybe putting a stud in there.

Any input for people who have had to deal with this?
