1st mod on a stock 00 z28
I have a DD 2000 z28.
Is this worth the buy ? i have heard that it adds about 15-20 HP and gives you 1-2 more MPG .

or would i be better off buying something else ?

It's not a "bad" modification package, but your money could be best spent elsewhere. Like was mentioned, you can get the lid for $99 from essentially any sponsor (I prefer WS6store myself). You can then take the savings and get a ported throttle body and oil-free air filter. Do the "free ram air" mod or go with a cold air kit from SSRA, FTRA, or chris1313

What other method besides the SLP box would you bets recommend ?
i am not big into racing just want more power and at least a building block if i decide to mod my z28 down the line.
I was thinking of doing the combo of the Volant cold air and the SLP Lid
any other suggestions ? or any one use a different combo that performed
better ?
would like to gain 10 - 20 pony's from this first step.

I'd skip the K&N filter because the oil is known to cause problems on our MAF sensors. There are many who like to stick with a factory paper filter; however, I personally went with an Airaid Synthamax filter. It's a cotton/gauze filter without the oil.

i know this is a dumb question . Can a Volant cold air intake fit inside a SLP box ? thanks again. also i have read that the SLP bellows are a waist of money is that true ?
