C5 question
I have an opportunity to purchase a 2004 c5 cheap (wrecked) power train and suspension are good. Would like to use as much as possible in my 52 chevy truck. First , is it possible to convert and second , could it safely tow a 4500 pound vintage trailer?

the c5 drive train is unique, the transmission is mounted to the rear differential on the vette and connected via torque tube. so the drive train is a fixed length, not gonna fit your truck. the rear differential of the vette would require massive fabrication to fit your truck in order to keep the functionality of a truck. And then the gear ratio of the differential but be all wrong for towing. I believe the 2004 c5 has the LS1 5.7L engine, so it's not like you're getting an LS3 that's 6.2L or an LS7 7.0L. The only thing worth using from the vette would be the motor if the price is right, and you didn't mention what transmission it had. If it's a manual do you really want to use that in the truck? or do you want an automatic? if the vette trans was an automatic, it's the 4L60e which is common but if you want to tow reliably then you would want a 4L80e. but you could probably make the 4L60e work reliably if you put a good cooler on it and a trans temp gauge. and with the LS1 from a vette the cam is set up for high rpm hp which is not necessary good for a truck application, you'd want to change out the camshaft and intake manifold- sacrifice some high rpm hp but gain lots of torque in the lower rpms.
