I am a newbie to the world of LS. I have basic engine knowledge, meaning i can pull a engine and tranny out and replace it but i can't tune it. I have a 1986 jeep wagoneer with a 360 v8, it runs pretty good, but i want it to run great. What direction do i go to achieve my goals. I need to be able to tow, have 4-wheel drive working, drive across country if i choose, and have my buddy in his lil mustang say wow! Please help.

consider a ls5.3 swap .and install a good towing cam. .get a wiring harness from the same type of car you get the engine from .so the ECM will match the engine .check the conversion section .
