Default 6.5 diesel to 6.0 swap

I'm buying a 01 2500hd that's wrecked and I wanna put motor in my 93 3500 Chevy. What is the 01 6.0l called I've seen ls9 lq4 ls2 but I have no clue what the difference is

It will most likely be the LQ4 with a dished piston @ 9.5:1 compression. The LQ9 was in the higher end model vehicles. The LQ9 has flat top pistons @ 10:1 compression. Other than that the motors are almost identical.

LS1- 5.7L aluminum block
LS2- 6.0L aluminum block
LS3- 6.2L aluminum block
LS6- 5.7L aluminum block
LS7- 7.0L aluminum block
LS9- 6.2L aluminum block - supper charged
LQ4- 6.0L Iron block
LQ9- 6.0L Iron block
LM7- 5.3L Iron block
L33- 5.3L aluminum block

2001 would most certainly be LQ4.
