Default fast intake help

Hello all, new to the forum..

Have a few questions (as I'm an engine noob) just starting out. I've had my 04 gto for 7 years now and just turn 50k on it. Looking for some engine mods. I have header and exhaust and a CAI. Been interested in a fast intake, pros/cons? Better products out there?

Thanks in advance

Also check the Gen III external engine subforum for more information on intakes.

other than replacing seals is it just a direct swap out, stock to fast? should i worry about any other supporting mods, like cam, injectors, rocker arms?

You'll only gain 10-15 hp. Spend same money on a full nitrous kit and get 100+hp

I personally agree with this, but for some having that last 10-15 hp n/a is just really important. The only way I could really justify one of these intakes is by selling my LS6 intake and buying a used Fast...that way it may be a few hundred bucks at most. Either that or if I had some really top of the line heads with a huge cam, etc...basically a max effort top end combo

Sell your stock intake to recoup money spend on fast intake and tb. Won't notice a big increase without other supporting mods. Imo intake shouldn't be done until you've got cam, heads, exhaust to be most beneficial.

If I were to do it all over again I would just go with a procharger. Fast intakes are such a waste of money for what you gain.
