No cons with the hypertech here unless you want your car to be warm or warm up faster in the winter. Other than that its a great piece to keep those engine temperatures down which in turn makes more power. The ASP pulley will not interfere at all. Your all good to go if you wanna run both. Good Luck

i read somewhere that if you run your engine to cool, then it wont beable to burn off those carbon deposits on your pistions. i thought i read that 180 is right where it needs to be?!?

I have the 160 stat and havent had a problem. If I didnt, I think my car would definitely be overheating with its setup. Even with the 160 stat it still goes over that temperature a little, probably it runs at about 180-200. Just because the stat is set at 160 doesnt mean its gonna keep it there no matter what. It just means that it will open at 160 and TRY to keep it running cool I would guess around 160 to 200 degrees. I think carbon deposits on the piston have more to do with the gas your running and what it burns at, also your type of oil and if its getting by your rings.

I have seen no significant gain or loss with the
Hypertech 160. It may allow you to run slightly
more spark advance or slightly leaner, but if so
it's "in the noise" as far as my Predator tuning
adjustments went; ping at roughly the same
limits of leanness or advance.

Fan settings are more to-the-point. Without
setting fans sane, the 'stat is without authority.
With fans well set, the 194F steady ECT is a
perfectly good temp to run at.

The fans have a harder time holding down to
177F (the true "pivot" point of the "160" 'stat)
than 194F simply due to thermal dump heat
flux being delta-T, water to air, dependent.
But so far I haven't seen the ECT go uncontrolled,
never over 181F (with my high speed fans set
to run at 178F) even under hard use.

I would say it's money better spent elsewhere
unless you've run out of ways to improve power,
or have really upped the power / compression
levels made. I wouldn't view it as any kind of
power improver in/of itself.
