Default Starting car without clutch pedal?

I was wondering if it was possible to start the car without pressing the clutch pedal? I ask because I am waiting on a hydrulic clutch cable to be delivered and wanted to start the car to see if everything is hooked up properly. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Andrew

No. The clutch pedal depression switch opens the starter relay engage circuit, thereby preventing starting the vehicle with the clutch engaged. However if you were to bypass that switch with a jumper wire, you could easily defeat it. It is located directly and the top of the clutch pedal and has a white threaded stop on it with either two yellow or a yellow and purple wire.

you can just push the pedal down, and it will start fine,

the pedal is what trips the switch, not the clutch itself, just remember, don't be in gear, or your car will start to move, and probaly run

Why would you need/want to start it without the clutch anyway?

If doing a remote start in a manual, just tie into the purple starter wire downstream of the starter relay at the underhood fuse box. That is the direct 12v signal to the starter solenoid. I don't recommend it, but I've put several remote starters in LS1 M6's including my own. Like said above, don't leave it in gear or else
