Default Electric Water Pump?

What are the potential gains of going with an electric water pump over a belt driven one? Any downsides to doing this mod? Looking for something cheap and easy to get more power out of the car.

Cheap is not a electric water pump, also it's a max effort thing. May not even measure on a dyno may make 5 more hp.

As said, one of the last bolts ons to be considered. GM's stock pump lasts. Certainly there is parasitic loss but you aren't driving the car for its fuel mileage.

As stated, the electric water pump is usually only considered for max-effort builds. It really doesn't aid the HP/TQ/MPG numbers much and is very pricey given its insignificant returns. In my opinion, that money is better spent anywhere else.

The real benefit is on a dedicated drag car. The electric pump lets you circulate the water with the engine off for quicker cool downs between rounds. For any other application, I wouldn't bother with one.
