Default Mystery Pipe

On the driver's side in the little hole underneath the turn signal/drl, there's a little tube that I can't seem to figure out. When the engine is running, it'll have suction which I can feel when I put my finger up to it. There's no noticeable change in the engine idle when I plug the hole, and it currently idles at the normal 1000ish rpm. Should there be something connected here? I feel that if it was intentional, it would be ridiculously easy to suck up rainwater given its placement. Mystery Pipe-w0tksw3.jpg

I did a little research about the AIR system and it turns out it only runs on startup, so I shouldn't have too much to worry about sucking up water. Thanks!
