gear swap question i have a stock 2001 trans am,2.73 gears and auto trans. I'm doing a gear swap next week from 2.73's to 3.42's. My question is do i have to have ''THICK CUT'' gears for the swap?

YES. A 2 series carrier(used for 2.73 and 3.08) requires 'thick' gears. And the computer has to be re-programmed to correct the speedometer.
