Default New Z06 owner. first LS car. couple of general questions

hey all.

just a couple questions as im new to the ls world as far as owning one.

any particular recommendations on cold intake brands. im seeing a lot of people saying the halletech venom is good. and also regarding exhaust setups.any particular exhaust combos doing better than others.

and last any other recommendations on start mods that will make a good impact. not looking to mess with internals for 12 months or so. ive heard the fast intake is a great upgrade. but also heard the ls6 intake is fine.

thanks for any input

first thing you need to do is fix the valve guides... ls7s have problems with that even in stock form

A lot of bette guys like the XS power exhaust, you can get long tubes all the way back and it sounds great and performs for about half the cost of other "name brand" exhaust.
As for intakes the Vararam is a good one but its not cheap and its a pain to install but they claim 2 tenths in the 1/4 mi with it.

after some research the xs power does seem legit. would I gain more volume out of the exhaust if I replace the catback or the midpipe to a X and leave the Ti system on?

LT's with x pipe into the Ti will sound great. The Ti exhaust flows very well.

If you want to leave the stock manifolds for now and just replace the rear section, Borla Stingers is one of the meanest sounding exhaust on a stock Z06.

well I figured out my car has texas speed longtubes. still has stock midpipe and catback. im not sure if the texas speed LTs can be matched with other xpipes since its meant for stock midpipe.

also does the Stock TI exhaust have any resale value.

I sold my stock Ti exhaust for $250. That was going back about 6 years ago. Not sure what they're going for now.

Stock TI is worth around $300 if in good shape. If you already have long tubes, the borla stinger might be too loud, unless you just like driving a full out race car.

I went with the borla stinger catback. ordered from southern car parts. they seem to check out. ill see how she sounds and maybe do a non catted midpipe next. also eyeing the Vram intake.

im near certain they are texas speed LT's. they adapt to the stock midpipe. not sure if I order a offroad pipe if they will bolt up right
