Default Buying a F-body

Hello!

So with in the next year or so I am looking into another vehicle to drive to replace my current car since my brother is buying mine.

I have my eye on three different cars..

1) 1999 Pontiac Firebird - 129k - LS1 - auto - gold- locked up motor but it has a comp cams .572 lift, long tubes, slp exhaust, slp intake, and 2800 stall. clean body, garage kept
(I'm not affraid of taking on an engine build)

2)1999 Pontiac Firebird - 78k - LS1 - auto - white - oil changed every 3500 miles - " UMI lower control arms, UMI lca relocation brakets, UMI adjustable panhard bar, UMI on car adjustable torque arm, UMI boxed weld in subframe connectors and UMI strut tower brace. As far as the engine work that has been done; whisper lid with super sucker ram air, ported MAF and Throttle body, LS6 intake, Pacesetter long tube headers and off road y-pipe into an SLP Loudmouth I with dual slash cut tips and B&M shift kit installed stage 3, underdrive crank pulley, trans cooler and coil relocation. As far as appearance goes, the side moldings have been removed and blue vinyl overlays as seen in the pictures, I have installed a manual fan switch, autometer temp gauge and transmission temp gauge is included but not installed and Mcewen white gauge cluster overlay., All scheduled maintenance, Always garaged"

3) 2001 Pontiac Firebird - 106k - LS1- 6sp - bleck - stock

All these cars are priced under 10k and the car will be used as a summer driving car and a cruiser/something to clean up and take to shows.

For being my first time buying into one I thought I get some owners thoughts on each car. Thanks!

Hope there still for sale after a year or so lol. I'd go for the 01. Getting harder to find stockers these days . first ones locked up which equals a lot of $ you have no idea what's wrong with it. 2nd one has a lot of mods .Nice mods but most likely been beat on a bit? That's just my opinion though. Me myself I prefer stock cars or cars with minor bolts ons( for example catback/lid)so you can mod them yourself and make sure everything's done right(no stripped bolts etc). Only way I'm buying a car with a bunch of stuff done to it would be buying it from someone you know/buddy. To many people out there half butt things.Again that's just my thoughts.

If they all have fair prices decide if you want a A4 or M6 then pick the color you like best. In the long run those will make a bigger difference, everything else is easier and cheaper to change.

The first one is 2800, and the other two are priced around 9500.... there's also a stock ws6 that I just found with 90k at 9900.... and going stock makes sense so I could put the parts and mods on I want and not have something that is complete crap...

Do WS6s really go for that much? I figured my '99 M6 Z28 (96K miles) was worth less than $5K by now, but no way is a WS6 worth twice as much...

That's what I was thinking, but didn't want to say it and offend the WS6 owners...

I've KBB'd the car and sadly yeah its worth 9k according to them. I wish it was 5k.... but it's been up for sale for a year so it'll probably be easy to talk him down
