Default Best mods for 6.0 to get to 500 hp

Purchasing a ly6 want to get to around 500 hp. I've heard valve springs and a good cam will get there, the truck won't be a daily driver it's a toy.

For the LY6 DEFINITELY do valve springs and pushrods. The stock stuff can barely withstand the factory cam. Since you are going to be there anyway, also pick up a new timing set, an undrive pulley and a high flow oil pump. I would suggest getting a custom grind cam from either of these vendors.

I would also do full exhaust and some type of cold air intake. I dont know if you will need injectors, but in case you do look to fuelinjectionconnection.com

The stock heads are pretty good, and from what Ive read the intake manifold is good too.

Also get a good tune. Dont worry about dyno numbers as the dynomomter is a tuning tool.

500 @ the crank or wheels? Auto or manual? Big differences.

If you're shooting for 500 at the wheels, you'll be hard pressed getting there with stock heads.

At the crank is fine for me . It's automatic. I'm just looking for a jump in HP from my LT1

Hotrof mag did a 6.0 upgrade with a set of stock l92heads l76 intake with gm hotcam and headers and did 550is on dyno so bigger cam means more. So with a custom cam means more, as a hotcam is pretty mild still..

Ls3 topend with a decent cam. Tooley stage 2 ls3 cam makes 470rwhp on the regular. That's put flywheel power over 500 horse easily
