Strange problem ????
OK, the car is an M6 i get going, driving normal, if i give it about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle just to wind it up a bit it starts pulling but it feels like something is holding it. than about 3500 the car kind of "sits down" (thats the only way I can discribe it) and smooths out, revs smoother and pulls alot harder. shift to third...same deal, feels held back than smooths out and pulls hard. what could be causing the car to do that?? any help is much appreciated

How long have you have the car.
Are you familiar with the LS1 powerband?
Its really streetable below 2000 then it starts
to scream. If you know what I mean but its
acting up them I'd say first check all your conections
in the induction. Lid may have popped off or bellows.
Have you messed with your MAF?
Have you put cheap gas in cause of the high price?
Check that first and we'll take it from there.

It sounds to me like a breathing problem also. It's never happend on my Z, but on my 1st car (a Dodge Dynasty), it would act that way when I let the oil get too low, or too dirty. Are you pretty good w/ your fluid changes? Just a though. GL.

You might want to check your spark plug wires, too. I had a couple of bad ones recently and the car would act wierd until about 3000 rpm, then it would run like crazy.

I just put MSD 8.5mm Wires on it, I'm planning on changing the Plugs this weekend so I'll make sure the wires are good when I do that, I left the Metel heat shields on the wires when I put them on, Should I have taken those off?

Did this happen before you put the wires on? Do you have headers? My problem was the stock plug wire boots were actually against my header pipes, and fried 'em. I bought some Taylor thundervolt wires and they're a perfect fit, the boot is small enough to miss all my header tubes. If you've got heat shields (mine didn't have any) I'd use them if you've got headers or are concerned about any overheating problems.

I have the stock manifolds, I didn't notice the problem till shortly after the wires went on. is there a way to test the wires to make sure there good? can the wire be bad and still spark the plug?

When my wires were bad, at off-idle (starting out from a stop) I'd get bucking and hesitation. If I went WOT, it went away. I'm not sure how a wire can provide enough spark at full throttle, and not enough at idle, but that was my case. It definitely was my wires, since I've swapped them I haven't had any trouble, not to mention when I tried to pull 3 of the old wires off, they fell apart in my hands (literally). How my car ran with those wires I'll never know. I'm pretty sure a shop could test your wires, but then again, what it would cost would buy you a new set.
