P0134 / p0154 please help!!!!!!
Hi Guys!
Currently my car started throwing these codes on the Diablosport's diagonistics section. The fuel economy is all over the place. But the weird thing is that my aem wideband afr at idle shows 15.3:1
* P0134 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Circuit Insufficient Activity Bank 1 Sensor 1
* P0154 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Circuit Insufficient Activity Bank 2 Sensor 1
And I can not find the cause. I have replaced o2 sensors twice. I have replaced extension cables twice. Cleaned all the sensors inside the engine bay.
And maybe as a result of these codes, after a halt, my car seems to drop the rpm into the desired idle like after 7 seconds. In the stop&go traffic, it always wants to move further.
With 55 liters of gas the mileage is at most 380 kilometers. It's almost like my 74 Pontiac Firebird 455.
Please try to help me out with these.
My car is a 99 camaro A4. Fast 92, 92TB, long tubes, slp maf, k&n open type airfilter

Sensors are sleepy because the long tubes cool them
too much for the available heater power. That's simple
and well discussed.
What happens then is, your PCM keeps the average right
but does it by spending half its time whacked lean and
half whacked rich. Both of which are inferior for economy
(and emissions).
Look at finding some way to keep heat in the collector
as much before, and at least a little bit after the sensor.
Or learn to love open loop.

The thing is that i have had these same long tubes for the past 4 years and these codes started to show up only recently. I've never had them before....

Hi Guys, i am new to this site. i was looking at this thread as i have a similar concern on a 2009 Holden(commordore). It has a 3.6lt V6 engine. I have a P0154 code with bank 2 in open loop constantly. P0154 is bank 2 sensor 1 low activity and on the dealers advice i replaced the sensor. Bank 2 did go to closed loop momentarily but then went back to open and the code came back on, on the road test.
Reading through one of the suggestions, i started testing the wiring and found no earth signal coming from the engine ECU for O2 sensor signal. All other wiring and signals are testing ok.
I am reluctant to replace an engine ECU before doing some research.
My questions/concerns are:
1. Has anyone out there had a similar issue and if yes how did they go about it?
2. Any suggestions from diagnostic experts?
3. If the ECU is faulty, why did the scanner show closed loop momentarily as soon as i replaced the sensor and then revert back to open loop?
Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated.
