Default Will not stay running

Just bought a 98 WS6 that has been sitting in a garage for 5 years and started rarely. As long as you keep the starting fluid going it runs great, after that it will die. Any ideas what to do next. I assume its in fuel system.

New to this. How would be the best way of doing that?

Removed the line form the fuel filter on the tank side. Turned the car over and no gas flowed from the line. Fuel pump?

i'd bet on it being a clogged fuel filter! change that first and let us know if it fixed the problem.

Run a cleaner through the fuel system to clean the injectors. Add 1oz of penzoil 2 cycle synthetic motor oil for every five gallons and lube every thing up on the top end. Methanol dries out all the rubber seals. Won't hurt the sensors

If you have another person to help, have someone underneath the fuel tank. Make sure the key is in the OFF position. Next turn the key to the ON position but don't start it. The person underneath should hear the fuel pump whine on then off. If they hear nothing, check the fuel relay or replace the fuel pump. If they do hear the whine, then its possible you have a clog some where in the fuel sending line. Hope this helps.
