Default Engine question

Hello,

I have a 2007 2wd Chevy crew cab truck. The motor in the truck is a 6.0 liter Vortec MAX. I know that this motor is not necessarily a LS motor but it may be an earlier version of it. Anyway my question is what motor is it or how can I go about confirming which motor it is? Most of these trucks came with a cast iron block 6.0 L. Mine is an all aluminum 6.0L. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kim

It's absolutely LS..just not exactly LS2 or 3 as it seems to have a lot of later parts. Higher compression too in the Max so actually a desirable engine for some folks. If ever you want to sell that motor, I'm definitely interested. Or just let me know where it is parked at night.

A quick search led me here which has some info on your motor as well as your truck in general:

That is what I think based on the reading. I'd bet $2 on it but hopefully one of the truck guys will chime in for you?
