Default tracked 2000 camaro ss??

new to the forum. i just recently bought an ls1 camaro ss. but i now have reason to believe it has been tracked/dragged/raced, probably a lot. found that the car has line lock that he disconnected, and it looks like he had a gauge on the inside pillar, also the spare tires he gave me are torn up pretty bad from burn outs. I asked him after finding this out if he took the car to the track to witch he replied "yea i took it a few times"

the car only has 65,000 miles, new clutch, lightweight flywheel, headers exhaust and intake. oil is clean, car makes no weird noises, no rust, garage kept.

my question is, if the car has been "tracked a few times" should i be worried??
or will the ls1 be fine?

Nothing to worry about. Dude probably took care of the car and kept up with maintenance as most people who race do.

being a manual I'd only be worried about the rear end, the 7.5" isn't known for taking abuse to well,

I wouldn't be worried. It's likely better maintained than one just putted around by someone who didn't know anything about cars and worried they'd break something if they went WOT.

I agree. This is the only real area of concern. M6 cars are hard on the rear when driven aggressively on sticky tires, so regular track visits could mean that the rear has seen some abuse no matter how well taken care of the rest of the car is.

Having said that, if the rear is fine at the moment then you'll probably get quite a bit more life out of it as a daily driver or regular street cruiser.

I wouldn't be worried a lot of guys beat the **** outta these cars and they continue to run fine...Car has low Miles. Give her a good oil change, change the plugs and shell be as good as new.
