Default 1st time at track running 15s?????

This is the first time i went to the track and im running a terrible 15 second. I was really pissed off we did about 5 runs all at 15 my 60 foot is terrible 2.361 is the best one. Now its a 2000 ss camaro manual ls1 and the first gear seems to be messed up. I do have a noise in the transmission. What do you guys run with a manual tranny what do you stall at? i was at 1500- 2000 rpm max on take off. my 1st gear seemed to be really slow hence the bad 60 foot time and than it picked up when i shifted to second. Could there be something wrong with the transmission, motor, driver or where im stalling at?

97.17 mph made 15.083 i forgot to mention i revved it up to 3000 on the street today and it took off very good felt better than at the track. At the track my rpms were at 1500 than i dumped the clutch it revved up and than dropped back down it felt as if i was in 6th on the highway cruising at 1000 rpm than flooring the gas.VERY SLOW ACCELERATION

I have a stock 01 TA and when I first took it to the track I launched pretty similar to how you did and I ran a 14.1 with a good amount of wheel spin. Something definitely sounds off, start with the trans issue since it's already evident that something is wrong with it.

Are you running stock?
I did 13.7 first time at track also own a 2000 Camaro SS. Maybe this will help turn off your traction switch rev up to about 1000 and take off you should be ok. If you want good time treat your car like a bitch on the track. From first through third be quick and aggressive!

Sound exactly like what happens when you leave traction control on, if running street tires dumping the clutch at 1500rpm should lead to tire spin not bogging.

I've only ran my car 4 times since I've owned it and my 4th run I ran a 13.7 at 106, and that was with a lot of wheel spin. With a better driver I'm sure my car could run low 13's easily.

Oh man
First off and most important is where are you from?
**** here in Denver people will run 15's stock due to altitude but then go to sea level and run 14's or high 13's.
