I have a 98 trans am it's an A-4 (4L60-E) , Have noticed it would slip a bit when I would "floor it",but was fine when I let off the gas, fluid level was slightly above full, and I was planning to do filter/fluid change ,but as I was on my way to get parts ect. I was trying to show my friend what it was doing ,so I floored it as I had previously,but this time we heard apretty loud bang,and now it won't shift to 3rd or O.D. Reverse is fine but nothing after it shifts from 1st to 2nd(shifter in D) but is delayed. checked fluid and it smells "burnt"and is slightly orange now. Is this something I can repair without removing the trannsmission? is there a chance that I could replace the filter and change the fluid and add some lucas or seafoam,to fix it? thanks

Same thing happened in my tahoe, trans needs rebuilt or replaced.
