Default lq9 valve train noise after cam install

Okay guys been around the ls game for awhile but this is the first cam swap on one I did ive bought a comp extreme xfi cam new lifters timing chain pump valve springs an stock push rod now its got realy bad tapping on both banks almost sounds like a diesel any one have any ideas why? Intake duration 266 ex 270 an 520 int an 524 ex lift any help would be great

Did you check PTV clearance?

Just by hand craking it over heads are stock with stock gaskets cranked over fine ive herd guys say they are noisy with aftermarket cams but this is way worse up

need to measure pushrod length needed. Get a Comp pushrod checker.

mite need longer push rods .also check for bent push rods .

You need to check PtV and valvetrain geometry to verify all is well.
Did you do headers at the same time? They amplify valve train noise on LS's quite a bit.

My motor got significantly louder post-cam, the valvetrain
action is made more violent by any cam worth having. All
that component swappage could have left you wanting a
different pushrod length than you've got, but that should
be easy to check.
