just bought my catch can and i have one issue and one question. first the issue: the nozzles that are supposed to thread into the can do not thread flush. the stop at half way and at first i thought i was cross-threading it but that is not the case. anyone else experience this? now the question: what the hell is that piece on the very bottom and what does it do? i tried searching here and their web site to no avail. anyone?

the bottom is a drain.

and with those kind of fittings, its common for them to only go in 1/2 way, Check with others for pics, of who actually own this can, But many fittings like that are slightly flared as they get screwed in, so that is very common to happen.

Those pieces are pipe threaded which means that they flare up in size slightly so they shouldn't thread in all the way, this prevents you from having to use any kind of sealant.
