Help!
I am new to the forum today. I have a 1999 Z28 LS1 convertible which is bone stock. The rearend has been singing for a few months now and I knew I had to eventually rebuild it. Wanting to go to .373 to wak it up a little. I have incurred a new problem. It starts revving at higher speeds like something is slipping. Would this be related to the exixting rearend problem or is the tranny now going too? The car has 130K on it, but has been very well kept and looks new. Do I need to just sell her….any takers??? Pics attached.

are you the original owner?
if you have a manual transmission then it is likely a slipping clutch,
if an automatic transmission then it can easily be clutches in that or the torque converter.
the oem 10 bolt rear axle in these cars are notorious for going out after 50k miles, just a fact of life having a 300+ hp v8. the rear axle cannot slip, except for spinning tires and losing traction.
rear axle rebuilds are hit or miss, lot of people have the ring & pinion replaced only to still have a noisy singing rear axle so do some research for competent rear axle shops.
