Default Rattling sound from front drivers side

I have an 02 SS A4 bone stock besides the SLP package and yesterday it started making a new sound. Coming from what sounds like the front drivers side wheel well/ under the hood is a rattling sound when I'm at about 1500-2000 rpms. It is not constant, but it will come and go about 4 times before hitting 80mph. It sounds like thin metal plating with ridges rubbing on something. Not very loud though. im thinking it may have to do with the brake caliper but not sure if that could cause this noise. Just looking for any input. thanks guys.
P.s just checked it out again and the sound stops immediately when I let off the gas. Maybe an air leak somewhere in that area?

make sure it isnt an engine or valve train noise.

Yeah, I checked that. It only makes the noise while the car is actually rolling. Pulling the throttle from under the hood and revving won't create the sound. The engine itself sounds fine. Clean revs.

Figured it out. I banged on my cats and sure enough my drivers side cats honeycomb is vibrating inside. It also makes a clanging sound upon startup. Just glad it isn't the tranny or engine! I'll be replacing both cats anyways because I have ocd and can't have a new and a old on my car! Thanks for your feedback Oranges
