Congrats on the Z. I've been watching the post and I'm in a similar boat, however my 02 Z28 was rode hard and put away wet. I've got a lot more maintenance to do before I put her on the road.
I have found that looking around you can find some pretty amazing deals through the site sponsors. Speed Engineering has very good pricing on Stainless LT Headers. Also they have reasonable camshaft packages. I'll be placing an order as soon as the maintenance is complete. Also check out the WS6 Store. Ordered a catback from there.
I'm definitely not afraid to use some used parts. When it gets time for a few other more expensive parts I'll be looking in the classifieds. I know it's not a site vendor but I've been getting OEM parts off Amazon reasonably priced.
Cheers
Jim

It's pretty much all the routine maintenance that was ignored since 2002. All fluids (minus the oil changes at Jiffy Lube )need to be replaced or flushed. Replacing all the brakes. Some of the interior pieces were damaged or missing (replaced). I was literally able to scrape the gunk out of the throttle body with my finger. Stock Catback was on it's last leg. Needs a front driver side fender, dent removed in the passenger quarter panel. Previous owner tried to remove the window tint so there is residue that needs to be removed from the passenger side and he half assed removed the driver side tint. Possibly going to replace the shocks while I'm at it. Oh and the wheels were all mismatched, the tires were dry rotted and one had a blow out. And it looked like a Coke can exploded in the hatch back.
Going to Seafoam it as soon as the brakes are done and I can drive it. I have 90% of the parts already to get it on the road.
That's it so far. So far.....

Hopefully you got an amazing deal haha
I'm glad mine didn't need all of that
Paint is ****
Shocks aren't the best
But great brakes, wheels and tires.
Radiator had the crack
Still need to do the rear diff fluid sometime though
And need to do plugs still

I sold my old 02 taurus that the tranny was going out in for 850$. So what should I buy next?
I'm thinking ls6 intake but trying to get one for 300-350shipped
After that would be 243/799 heads?
Other option is cam since they're only 250-300$ then whatever else I need with it. I think only springs and pushrods ?
Anyone have any suggestions what that 850 should go toward?
Thank you for any help

On The Tree
Also, no a stall is not only for the track, it's the best modification for any A4 car. If you're afraid of it, do a SS3600, nearly no drawbacks in driveabilty or MPG.
You won't be putting a cam into a damn thing without a stall to match it. And a tune for that matter.
