New to me 2000 T/A with high mileage.
I just recently purchased a 2000 Trans Am A4 with 118,000 miles on it. Well, the seller seemed legit so I didn't carfax it, my bad. It actually has 180,000 on it. I only paid 5500 for it, and it has a Trufiber hood similar to the WS6 hood, and it has C6 ZO6 wheels on it. It runs really well, tranny shifts fine. So not a bad deal.
I am concerned with the mileage, any opinions on what preventative stuff I should do.
Thanks,
David

stock LS1's will run a good long time. I pulled the heads on mine at 141K, and could still see the factory hone on the cylinder walls. Any used car, I'd replace hoses, belts, plugs, wires, flush the coolant, change the oil out and put in 5W30 Mobil 1, check the shocks, brakes, chassis grease points, PCV system

Good looking car. If it goes sour, it's worth what you paid in parts. Typically a car that looks well taken care of is.

Thanks. I love the way it looks. Not happy that the guy switched odometers but oh well.
What about suspension stuff to look at? It does have kyb shocks but not sure of the age.

I went through mine at 120K and put all energy suspension bushings in and bilstein shocks. Been very happy with the suspension after that. The kit came with the transmission mount as well, but I pulled it and put the stock mount back in due to ride quality. Poly trans mounts seem to vibrate quite often. You'll find lots of threads with that same story.
Be prepared at some point to pick up driveline vibrations. That's very common on these as well. And it's very difficult to address. I fixed it once, and it came back. still working on it. New U joints going in this weekend.

Yes it is. He is trying to play dumb. I told him that I would like him to pay me back half of the price difference between what one with 118k and 180k would be. I feel that is beyond fair for him. So far he isn't responding, so I may get a lawyer involved.

Thanks Man. I am just super excited to have an F-Body again. It has been close to 10 years since I sold my Camaro. My wife got sick of me going through cars so much. She knew I wouldn't be happy until I had a F-Body again. So tax returns came, and she said go find one.
