Default Ls1 and Ls6 questions

Ok im sure this horse has been beat to death and I am unable to find out the facts and I am sure someone here can answer the questions I have. First I am aware of the difference in the heads and the larger windows at the
base of each cylinder but can someone answer if the ls6 equipped camaros came with the different pistons and harmonic damper? Also because the camaros had the 241 heads did It get the ls6 camshaft or the ls1 ? Also what makes the zo6 ls6 make 405hp and the ls1 make 325 ? Does any know where I could find stock ls6 powered camaro vs ls1 dyno comparison ? I am aware that everyone says there is no difference between the ones with the ls6 and the ls1 I am only looking to expand my knowledge on the subject not trying to start any arguments and hack on the people that do have the ls6 powered cars.

Big differences are the cam, heads and intake. that's pretty much all that really matters.

Thanks for the input was just wondering if some of these things ended up in the ls6 camaros. I mean on the assembly line were the ls6 engines being assembled as they were going in the corvettes or were they assembled as ls6 engines going in camaros?

LS6's were only in Z06 Vettes and none went into Fbodies..from the factory anyway.

Some ls6 blocks did make their way into late model 02 f-bodies. I for one have a factory ls6 f-body. But makes no difference anyways was just looking for further information on the subject. Thanks for all the input and the great article that was posted.

Big difference between ls6 block and ls6 engine. You might have a "ls6 block" (which will not affect power) but it still has ls1 cam and ls1 heads.

Ls1 is ~345hp (factory ratings were bullcrap) regardless of what it came in and ls6 is 405hp. The difference being the heads and cam. The 01-02 ls1 had the ls6 intake.

The ls6 came in C5 Z06 Corvettes and the first gen Cadillac CTS-V. No Camaros or Firebird/Trans Ams came from GM with a ls6 engine.

Yea the Ls6 "block" meant jack **** as far as a performance improvement...01-02's seems to run a tad stronger which was definitely attributed to the LS6 intake.

Thanks thunderstruck you answered what my question was originally. What parts came in the ls6 block. I am well aware of the no power improvements.I knew I had the 241 heads just wasn't sure about the rest. Ultimateorangess my casting number on my block is 12561168 from my research that's the ls6. I wish I got a base line dyno or a trap speed before mods. Thanks for all the help guys
