99 z28 trans problem
Hey guys I have a 99 z28 that is slipping when you try to take off in DRIVE or either OVERdrive
But If you manually shift it, it drives fine no slip at all

mileage? last trans service? Fluid level? Mods? Slipping at WOT or when applying gas? Holding gears may increase shift pressures within the valve body which would explain the lack of slippage vs in Drive alone. You can try smelling the fluid and see if it's burnt as well as the condition ( bright red or dark?). If you drag race a lot, the clutch packs may not be holding pressure and may be burnt ( slipping ) which means a rebuild. Heat and Neutral drops ( revving to 4k and dropping it into Drive much? lol) kills any auto trans.

I'm thinking it might be in limp mode because when you try to take off in drive or over drive it will move you just have to pat the gas like, but you can manual shift all the gears my abs light and Asr light is on also I wonder if that got anything to do with it I really dont know anything about the car cause I just purchased it from a lot
