Looking into buying a 01 v6 Camaro with a ls6 swapped in. The seller says the car ran great until last fall it stopped cranking so he covered it and now in the spring it's for sale. So he said the security light comes on when the ignition is turned on and stays on when you push forward to start it won't crank. From what I've researched this is a vats issue (vehicle anti theft system) I read into the resistor mod, I had him measure the resistance on the key pallet and he got 3.010 so I was planning on going out there with a 3k resistor and soldering it on the white wires going into the plug and it should work from what I've gathered. Well just in case things aren't this easy what else can I bring with me to fix this issue and get this thing running cause I will not buy unless I can here it run any help or suggestions on other things to try greatly appreciated.
